Ninja FlexFlame puts gas, smoke and pizza under one lid
Ninja’s outdoor system promises five cooking modes from 95 to 315°C, with forced convection and added wood pellets. The contents of each bundle matter as much as the headline specification.
With FlexFlame, Ninja is not presenting just another gas barbecue. The range combines five uses under one lid: grilling, smoking, roasting, griddling and pizza cooking. A high-velocity fan circulates hot air and smoke, while the stated cooking temperature can be set between 95 and 315°C.
The idea is to combine propane speed with extra smoke from Woodfire pellets. The distinction matters: pellets supplement the gas flame for flavour. This is not the continuous fuel system of a pellet smoker, nor is it charcoal cooking.
The main buying caveat is configuration. Ninja’s official UK page lists several models and bundles. On non-bundle versions, the griddle plate and pizza stone are sold separately. Comparing only the base barbecue price can therefore understate the cost of using all five advertised modes.
FlexFlame looks most relevant to buyers who value versatility and speed more than a highly specialised cooker. We would still want to test heat uniformity, smoke character at lower temperatures, gas consumption and cleanup after griddle cooking. On paper, Ninja is clearly moving the gas barbecue towards a modular outdoor-kitchen system.
